AMSTERDAM :Apple was fined 5 million euros ($5.65 million) by the Dutch antitrust regulator on Monday for failing to comply with an order to open its app store to enable relationship app suppliers within the (*5*) to use different cost strategies.
Apple on Jan. 15 stated it had complied with the December order https://www.reuters.com/technology/apples-app-store-broke-competition-laws-dutch-watchdog-says-2021-12-24 from the Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) – however the regulator stated on Monday Apple had not.
“Apple has failed to satisfy the requirements on several points,” the ACM stated in an announcement.
“The most important one is that Apple has failed to adjust its conditions, as a result of which dating-app providers are still unable to use other payment systems. At the moment, dating-app providers can merely express their ‘interest’.”
Apple couldn’t instantly be reached for remark. The firm is interesting the ACM’s December resolution.
The ACM stated it had knowledgeable the corporate of its resolution, and the corporate could be topic to a weekly advantageous starting from 5 million to 50 million euros till it complies.
