GM seeks U.S approval to deploy self-driving vehicle

WASHINGTON : General Motors Co and its self-driving expertise unit Cruise have petitioned U.S. regulators for permission to construct and deploy a self-driving vehicle that doesn’t want human controls, Cruise stated Friday.

Cruise stated in a weblog publish it sought permission to deploy the Cruise Origin that doesn’t want options like a steering wheel to function safely. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has authority to grant petitions to enable a restricted variety of autos to quickly function on U.S. roads that should not have required human controls.
