NEW DELHI : India will introduce a new policy for battery swapping to enhance gross sales of electrical automobiles (EVs), its finance minister mentioned on Tuesday, amid a broader push by the federal government to meet its decarbonisation targets.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s authorities plans to scale back carbon emissions by up to 35per cent by 2030 as a part of a dedication below the Paris Climate Agreement and it desires automakers to construct extra EVs.
