TAIPEI: Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen mentioned on Wednesday (Mar 2) that she, Vice President William Lai and Premier Su Tseng-chang will every donate one month’s salary to support humanitarian relief efforts for Ukraine because it seeks to repel an invasion by Russia.
The battle has generated widespread sympathy in Taiwan for Ukraine’s folks, due to the menace the island says it faces every day from large neighbour China. Beijing views Taiwan as its personal territory and has stepped up its navy strain to assert these claims.
Tsai, whose authorities this week ship its first batch of support within the type of 27 tonnes of medical supplies, instructed a gathering of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party that the willpower of Ukraine’s folks has moved the world and Taiwan’s folks too.
Russia calls its actions in Ukraine a “special operation”. The forces of worldwide democracy supporting Ukraine are rising stronger, Tsai mentioned.
“As a member of the global partners of democracy, Taiwan is not absent, and we fully support Ukraine.”
